7,000 Years of Beer
The first beer came to us from Iran’s Zagros Mountains around 3,400 BC clearly establishing that man (and woman) has needed beer almost since we’ve been upright. Humans figured out beer before the wheel. That’s how important it was to the early fabric of society. From peasants to Pharaohs, beer was often the choice over water as a daily hydration. It was healthier back in the day than the local well. For a few sad days in human history beer was commercial. Dominated by a few big names. Today, the kings of beer are local. And our corner of the world has become a place of pilgrimage for beer connoisseurs.
“Anyone can drink beer, but it takes intelligence to enjoy beer.” — Stephen Beaumont
